This position will primarily be responsible for the processing of advertising sales orders, processing of client invoices for advertising sales in the New York City region, and assisting with general accounting functions. Processing advertising sales orders will require reviewing the orders and ensuring they are in keeping with the clients' request, making certain that all customer and order data is entered into the system accurately, and that proper documentation is in place to support the contract. Invoice processing requires reviewing the reported ad spots that ran each month and reconciling them to orders as well as working with the sales team to ensure spots are appropriately matched to orders. Responsible for sending invoices to clients via mail, e-mail, and EDI and ensuring receipt. Assist with maintenance of billing database by ensuring all client data is accurate and up to date. Run reports and sample data as needed to test system upgrades. Check bank lock box on a daily basis for payments received from clients and apply payments to client accounts in the billing system. Assist with the monthly close of the general ledger by preparing journal entries and account reconciliation as assigned. Prepare the monthly bank account reconciliation and analysis. Create purchase requests and ensure timely processing and clearing of purchase orders. Set up new vendors in the accounting system. Prepare standard account reports for submission to corporate at required. Accurately calculate and account for commercial rent tax. Provide backup for other accounting functions as needed.       <description>Motorola ( NYSE: MOT ) updated the compensation package of Greg Brown, the company's Co-CEO and head of Motorola's Broadband Mobility business, according to a document with the SEC today . The new version aligns his interests tightly with shareholders, particularly when it comes to the sale of the mobile devices division. For instance, the agreement only rewards Brown if and when the mobile devices business becomes a separate publicly traded company with a minimum valuation and maintains a certain stock price for the remaining Motorola shares. Before counting stock options and awards, Brown will be making no less than about $10 million in 2008 comprising from his Base Salary, Annual Bonus, 2008 Special Bonus and long-term incentive plan. And, then his salary may grow from there based on how his equity will be treated in the event that Motorola is successful at spinning off its mobile devices division and it becoming a publicly traded company. For instance, in the event Motorola spins off the division and it becomes public, the company will have to maintain a market capitalization of at least $2 billion for Brown to have the option to purchase shares of Motorola common stock of a value of $3.33 million and restricted stock of $1.67 million. After that, both will have certain vesting schedules. Brown gets other perks, like a minimum of four weeks vacation and access to the company's airplane for "security purposes for business and personal travel," however, the package is unlikely to surpass the compensation of Motorola's other Co-CEO Sanjay Jha, who is the recently hired head of the company's struggling handset division. Jha is estimated to have a package worth as much as $94 million, including restricted stock, options, base pay and a special payment.       <description>Beleaguered online-music pioneer Napster announced to shareholders in a letter Friday that it's still employing investment bank UBS and may be positioning itself for "strategic alternatives" to keeping the company public--i.e. a sale. The letter was sent on behalf of Napster's board in order to urge shareholders to not vote for three activist candidates for the board. "The press release recently filed by the dissident group appears to imply that your board is not willing to consider a sale of the company," the letter read. "This is not true." The board additionally recommended that in place of the dissident candidates, shareholders re-elect existing board members Richard Royko, Philip Holthouse, and Robert Rodin. Napster was the original name in digital music , and a notorious one at that. The free peer-to-peer service was silenced after a high-profile court battle. Its attempts to resurface as a legitimate subscription-based music service just haven't gotten it back on top, and the addition of 6 million DRM-free MP3s would've been more impressive, if Amazon MP3 weren't doing the same. Napster's letter to shareholders insisted that the proposed new board members would lead the company in a wrong direction. "The dissident group's nominees have no relevant experience in the digital-music industry, have no public-company board experience, and the dissident group has not put forth any substantive plan for how their nominees will enhance value for our stockholders, if elected to the board," the letter read.</description>
