On Sunday, the Olmert-Barak-Livni-Yishai cabinet approved the release of 199 'Palestinian' prisoners terrorists from Israeli jails as a 'gesture' to 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. In doing so, the government crossed a new line even beyond the line it crossed in releasing Lebanese murderer Samir al-Kuntar.
Daily Kos tries to have a civilized discussion about Israel(noreply@blogger.com (Carl in Jerusalem))

Monday, August 11, 2008Daily Kos tries to have a civilized discussion about Israel It was a noble effort to have a about the 'Israel/Palestine question' on one of the blogosphere's most left-leaning blogs. So here is my experiment: Let's use this diary to see if we can have a discussion in which we listen to each other's voices and actually try to achieve some perspective. If you feel you cannot do this, please don't post a comment, or maybe one to excuse yourself from the discussion. Call it a dare if you like; I think it is worth trying. If we can do this, maybe there is hope for peace. And the denizens of Daily Kos voted with their feet - or rather with their keyboards. At this writing, more than nine hours after the thread was posted, there are a grand total of eleven comments (which is nothing for a blog of Kos' size), of which four might be described as substantive. Not much hope for 'peace,' is there?Previously at Israel Matzav: 0 Comments:Links to this post: <$BlogBacklinkSnippet$> posted by <$BlogBacklinkAuthor$> @ <$BlogBacklinkDateTime$>About MeName: Carl in Jerusalem Location: Jerusalem, Israel I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.'

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's cabinet on Sunday approved the release of five Palestinian prisoners as part of a swap deal with the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrilla group that brought the bodies of two Israeli soldiers home. Could this be the promised "gesture" to Ban Ki-Moon? Meanwhile, the Israel Matzav (situation) has Iran laughing all the way to the bank: Recall that on Friday I reported that the eventually resigning Olmert 'government' believes that it is close to a deal with Syria, and that it must be wrong because Bashar Al-Assad was due to travel to Tehran next Saturday (August 9). When...

I don't know how things are in your part of the world, but finding summer camps for your kids really stretches the budget here. For starters, we pay school tuition twelve months out of the year (so that we don't feel how expensive it really is all year long), which means that paying for camp during the summer months means paying two sets of tuition. And try finding a summer camp that actually
